~Welcome Party~

5 Dec 2010

CTLC Aiesecer had organized a welcome party for all the trainees~
Before the welcome party, some of us were requested to attend a interview session.
We need to tell them what we are doing in our working place and why we choose Taiwan as our exchange.
The answer from all of us are different. The most interesting answer is from Nobuaki-a trainee from Japan.
He said he want to learn Chinese, so he choose to come Taiwan and the result was so impressed because he really can speak Chinese more than what I can imagine.
When the interview finished, we had take some photos~

After the interview, we were heading to the welcome party. I'm looking forward at that time because can meet the other trainees and CTLC Aiesecers. Actually I'm kinda introvert in front of stranger. So, I felt a bit nervous too~ Hahaa XD
Okay, cut the crap.

All were happy and enjoy in the party~

We were played station game! They are my teammate~

They all said we are look alike~ Are we?

David~My TN manager~

3 Malaysia girls~ We knew each other in Taiwan~ 缘分!

I saw a Japanese 'fencing' practicing when I left the party~ 1st time!

Supper! So tasty!

We were overnight in Juju's room that night! Thanks ya for let us stayed in your room~

Yup~ I had fun in the welcome party. Not because of the food, beer... but the people I had met ^.^

P/S: The next day 6 Dec, I went to Hualien~ Will share with you all about the journey later :)

Hakka 客家话

I was live in a Hakka area during the 6 weeks~
That's why I had met many people speak Hakka~
But I don't understand...>.<
You sure will say this is a normal thing since I never learn Hakka before~
But the fact is....
I do speak Hakka because my parents teach me since I was child.
Haha~ is ok!!! I had imagined this situation will happen before I come here.
This is because we live in different country,
so what we had learn also different although the language is the same.
Sometimes I will feel interesting because same meaning but different pronunciation.
Can give some examples?
Sorry to tell that, I had forgotten...hehee~ paiseh ah!

A little story:
Uncle brought me to a meeting before, but the problem is they all spoke Hakka in the meeting.
I can understood some of it but most of the part I had no idea what they are discuss about.
At the end, I just sit and try my best to understand. It is so funny when you attend a meeting
without point. But I understood what uncle think about, he just want me to learn something new.
Appreciated but I won't attend any meeting without point anymore! Haha~

P/S: One thing can has different aspect when you see it from different way.^.^

~Kaohsiung 2 days 1 night trip (27-28/11/2010)~
Kaohsiung is located in southwestern Taiwan and is the second largest and most densely populated city in Taiwan. Kaohsiung was far from Hsinzhu, need around 4++ hours by bus if the traffic is smooth, you can choose another way that can save your time, go by High Speed Train (just take around 1 hour) but the ticket fee is much more higher than bus fee XD
We went Kaohsiung by bus, this is my 1st time taken such high class bus! !! The seat has TV, drinks, biscuits, and even massage~ haha~

TV~~~

We arrived lah~

Kaohsiung Train Station~
This is the old station, the new station is just beside it.

Takao British Consulate 打狗英国领事馆

Why this consulate called as Takao? This is because Takao is the original name of Kaohsiung, we still can see many restaurants and motel using this name in Kaohsiung ^.^
This was the first western-style building built on the island and it currently serves as a cafe and tourist attraction.

Need to climb so many staircases to reach the consulate,
so tied but worthy~

The view from British Consulate~
We can see the National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) from here~

This is the building of the consulate~

Formosa Boulevard Station 美麗島站~ The 'Dome of Light' is the name of this structure~
The 'Dome of light' consists of 16 pillars of colored light arranged around the dome. The entire work has a diameter of 50m and uses over 6000 pieces of glass.

Liouhe Tourist Night Market 六合夜市

The 1st night market I went~ Din't take pictures because concentrate on shopping~haha~
Liouhe night market is a traffic street by day but a walkway for people by night. There are common dinning areas. You can have your dinner and shopping!
Location: Infront of Kaoshiung Main Station and on Liouhe 2nd road.
You can get off at the Formosa Boulevard Station on the Orange/Red line (Exit No.11)

Lotus Pond 莲花潭

This a a lovely man-made lake and is well known for the 20 or so temples dotting the shoreline and nearby area, we can see various chinese structures located in and around the lake that give it an intensely traditional chinese feel.
We went to Dragon Tiger Tower龍虎塔 and Emperor of the Dark Heaven God temple 玄天上帝

Dream Mall 梦时代

Dream Mall is the largest shopping complex in Taiwan and one of the top large-scale shopping centers in Asia. One of the most famous features of the Dream Mall is the Hello Kitty Ferris Wheel outside the complex. You can enjoy both city views and ocean views with the ferry wheel.
